MINALCON - Mining Alliance Consultants

S.F. Blaauw - Founder and CEO of Tacmin started his career as Civil Engineering Technician for Murray and Roberts in 1981. Following several years of civil engineering contracting, Mr. Blaauw joined MCC Contracts, a SA openpit contract mining company. During his employ he was appointed
director of MCC Contracts and held several directorships for various company's within the MCC Group.

Based upon observations made during his employ, Mr. Blaauw left MCC in 1996 to found TACMIN, with the specific intention to bring about a mine engineering company capable of combining sound engineering principles with the practise. Under his direction Mr. Blaauw managed to grow TACMIN into a reputable practical engineering company which has became a registered supplier of engineering services to a vast number of Internationally listed Mining Companies.

In 2007 Mr. Blaauw formed MINALCON a wholly owned subsidiary of TACMIN that speciliazes in Mining Alliance Consultancy - MINALCON was successfully accepted by the openpit mining industry and continue to service blue chip mining Clients with a unique blend of Alliance and Engineering services.

Mr. Blaauw has an active involvement in all projects assigned and takes responsibility of strategic planning, scheduling, fleet requirements and allocations, mining costs, contractual agreements and brings over 25 years of project management experience in a broad variety of projects and minerals.

X.H. Palmer – Consultant – Financial management, economics, cost engineering, procurement, computerised maintenance management systems. Following his studies at Potchefstroom University for Higher Education, Mr. Palmer started out as financial manager for Meyer Diamond Mining in 1997, where he gained significant experience in economic modelling and open pit mine costing.

In 2003 Mr. Palmer joint Pagliacci Pty Ltd and gained valuable experience in supply chain management. In 2004 Mr. Palmer was appointed Financial Director at Xarix Financial Services were he gained experience in financial- and management systems.

Mr. Palmer joined TACMIN (PTY) LTD in March 2006 and was appointed group financial manager and also took control of equipment finance, manpower and purchases.

Mr. Palmer brings more than 12 years of experience in financial management, cost engineering, procurement and maintenance management systems.
